Elizabeth's cool feet - they are massive and really wrinkly (but you can't actually tell any of that from the photo). Hopefully she can have good balance and play netball for Australia!

Finally, our lovely baby is born. We are so proud to tell the world that we are the incredibly happy parents of Elizabeth Ann Parker, born 6:26pm Saturday June 5th, 2004. She was a large baby, weighing 4.17 kg or 9 pounds 3, 50 cm long!

Both Mum and baby are doing very well right now. They are happy, healthy and madly in love with each other (and with Dad too!!!).

Elizabeth is a beautiful baby - very cute, very nice tempered so far, very loving. I don't think I could love this child any more than I do. Cuddling her and just looking at her fill me with a freakishly large amount of joy. She's great!

I am rather proud of Ruth too! She did soooo well in the labour. Her contractions started about 8:30 Friday night, and we were up most of the night with the pain (sorry Carmen) At 5:30 we went into the hospital, and at 7:30 she was officially classed as being in labour.

Esther (Ruth's sister) stayed with us both for the full day and helped us all amazingly. Ruth was able to put up with an unbelievable amount of pain, just with an occasional use of gas - none of the big drugs at all! With a baby that large, Ruth is my hero. She did great!!!

After some family visitors late that night, Ruth and Elizabeth spent the night in hospital and came home about 1:30pm on Sunday. I think she likes her new house.

Overall we are all so greatful to God for this wonderful baby. She is so terrific, the labour went so smoothly, Ruth coped so well, just falling pregnant in the first place - we see all of this as being a series of beautiful gifts to us from God. We could really tell that God was with us the entire time and that so many people were praying for us. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feel free to have a look at our photos, add any comments you like and most importantly please pray for baby Elizabeth. We love her a lot!
